Welcome to the CSA Summer School at University of Rennes 1
The Mathematics Institute of Rennes is organising an international summer school on Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing for Photonics aimed at Master level students in mathematics or physics. Students from third year undergraduate as well as PhD students will also be welcome.
The first session will take place on 6 - 17 July 2015 at the University of Rennes 1 (France) and will focus on the Finite Element Method for Photonics, in conjunction with the UNESCO International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies.
The core of the summer school will consist of two courses
These will be complemented by practical tutorials and group
projects on the Finite Elements Method. Talks on selected topics in photonics illustrated with
real-world cases will be given by engineers and researchers working in
the field of optics. All courses will be given in English.
Students following the summer school in connexion with their degree will receive an official certificate of attendence as well as an international transcript of records corresponding to 3 ECTS upon their successful completion of the practical tutorials and projects.
